Dr. Lauren Carney is American Board of Orthodontic certified orthodontist in Dallas, TX. She has been practicing orthodontics in Dallas, TX since 2012. She was born and raised in Irving, Texas. From an early age, she loved spending time at the orthodontic office of her father (Dr. Pat Ohlenforst) and wanted to be an orthodontist herself! She attended Ursuline Academy of Dallas for high school where she also played Varsity Soccer. Dr. Carney learned a lot about perseverance and hard work from Ursuline soccer and also loved helping Ursuline win several of its now over 20 State Championships! Dr. Carney attended the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!) where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. Then she moved back home to Dallas to attend Baylor College of Dentistry for dental school. After dental school, she completed a 3 year residency in Orthodontics also at Baylor in Dallas. While there she earned her Master of Science in Oral Biology and Certificate in Orthodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry/Texas A&M University in Dallas. What sets us apart: Ohlenforst Carney Orthodontics is one of the few female owned sole practitioner orthodontic offices in North Dallas, TX. Dr. Carney is a residency-trained, Board Certified orthodontist and sees every patient and is at her office in North Dallas every day. Dr. Carney also has years of experience working with special needs patients. She worked at a pediatric dental office in Dallas during her college summers, has picked up a thing or two from her child psychologist sister, and is still gleaning as much orthodontic insight from orthodontist father’s 40+ years of experience. At Ohlenforst Carney Orthodontics, we truly aim to treat our patients as we would treat our family members while also providing the specialized care you’d expect from a residency-trained, board certified orthodontist in Dallas. Dr. Carney also knows your time is valuable and does not like to run late.

Dr. Carney is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, the Texas Association of Orthodontists, the Dallas County Dental Society, and Irving Dental Study Club.

Dr. Carney has also been nominated for several awards/listings including D Magazine Best orthodontists for 6 years running, DFW Child Mom-Approved Choice, Super Dentists, and had her award winning research published in the American Journal of Orthodontics.

Dr. Carney met her husband, Kevin, in high school (shortly after his orthodontic treatment at her Dad’s office!), and they started dating when they were sophomores at the University of Notre Dame. Kevin went to Cistercian Preparatory School in Irving and now has his own Information Security company, Mosaic InfoSec. Dr. Carney and her husband are parishioners of St. Monica Catholic Church and live in an amazing neighborhood in Dallas, TX called Sparkman with their three children.
